John K. Glenn is Founder and CEO of JKG Strategic Partnerships. He teaches geopolitics and leadership at the Elliott School for International Affairs at George Washington University and has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit, foundation, and academic sectors. 

He has held senior leadership positions at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the US Global Leadership Coalition, and the National Endowment for Democracy. For his work at NED, he was sanctioned by the Russian Foreign Ministry and banned from travel to the country.

With a Ph.D. from Harvard University, he has testified before Congress on America’s image in the world and is the author of Framing Democracy:  Civil society and civic movements in Eastern Europe, as well as numerous policy and academic writings. He also serves an HFX Fellow on the Agenda Working Group for the Halifax International Security Forum.

He is not related to the astronaut. He is the father of a high schooler in Washington, DC and the oldest of four brothers. He recently hiked to the base camp of Mount Everest.
